Yoshinogari Keitai-Guide
The storehouse of the Northern Inner Enclosure is thought to have contained various treasures that were not used in religious rituals. The Gishiwajinden recounts that when Queen Himiko of the Yamataikoku Nation sent envoys to the Emperor of China, he gave her various treasures including a bronze mirror. It is thought that the precious objects obtained through this first diplomatic exchange with China and the Korean Peninsula were kept in the storehouse as important treasures showing the country’s power.
