Yoshinogari Keitai-Guide
Among the group of buildings, this one is particularly small, and is unusually joined to the separating moat. Based on its layout and shape, it was not a storehouse, and is assumed to be a gate leading to the group of storehouses. As this group of storehouses is likely to have held the kingdom’s most important materials, it can be imagined that this gate-like structure was a gate tower for keeping watch over the western approaches.
